U9 news
Introduction
Our overall objective in the U9s is to have as much fun as possible in learning to play football specifically and competitive sport more generally. We aim to coach the players to maximise their individual technical skills whatever their ability, and to develop a passing game for the teams. Long term, we want to provide the players with a love of football and a love of being part of a team which will encourage them to be active participants in sport for the rest of their lives.

History
Bath City Youth have run junior sides for many years. Three quarters of the current squad joined as U7s two years ago when they began their footballing career. It’s been very good to welcome new players over the last two seasons to join in and further develop the excitement and camaraderie.
Past Success
Last season both the first team and the colts were very competitive, aspiring to play attractive, confident passing football. We meet with a good deal of success and have won several tournamants and even been invited to play with the Cardiff City Academy.
The Season So Far
At the time of writing training has commenced in earnest. This season we are placing huge emphasis on two things: the continued development of individual technique and ball mastery and the passing game. Throughout the season we will work with Craig from Coerver Coaching to assist us in achieving these goals.
The Future
This is a really important year for the development of young players as it is imperative that they continue to lay down solid technical roots upon which they can develop in future years. We are looking to continue to develop ball skills, passing and positioning, as well as scoring lots and lots and lots of goals. The overall standard of ability of the squad is good and we have a number of very talented youngsters.
